Everything we read in the Book of Mormon is of worth to us. We may not see it but it is.

Family Home Evening

A few week ago I had to give a talk on the importance of family home evening in sacrament meeting. I learned that the family home evening program has been around for 103 years this February.

President Monson said" We cannot afford to neglect this heaven-inspired program [family home evening]. It can bring spiritual growth to each member of the family, helping him or her to withstand the temptations which are everywhere. The lessons learned in the home are those that last the longest." 

I learned that when we do family home evening that we learn and draw closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus.

I've been reading about Alma the younger and the sons of Mosiah. I love this story because it shows how loving, forgiving and merciful our Savior is. No matter what mistakes we make if we sincerely repent and desire to change He will forgive us and help us. His atoning sacrifice makes all of this possible. And He not only suffered for our sins, mistakes and shortcomings, He suffered ALL of our pain - physical, emotional, spiritual. He also understands our sorrow, our sadness, our loneliness, and our struggles because He experienced ALL of them. He endured all of this because He loves us and wants us to be able to return home to our Heavenly Parents and Him. And because He experienced all of this He knows exactly how to help us. I love my Savior! Everyday I am grateful that I can repent and be forgiven. I am so thankful that I don't have to carry the burden of my mistakes. When I repent He takes them from me. And He helps me to change and become a better person. I LOVE HIM!

Be Prepared For Battle.

     I've been reading  about Moroni and how he went around and fortified city's so they would be prepared for the laminate's. when the laminates came they did not fight them because of there huge wall and the nephites were prepared for battle. I think that if we get prepared for Satan by reading and pondering he might also not even try or if he does it will be a lot harder for him to succeed if we prepared for him. 

Follow him

I read in the scriptures about following Christ. I know and have faith that we should follow him. then  we will receive good things, and blessings Just like in charlie in the chocolate factory they have to follow the rules ,charlie follows them, and he owns the factory
